Hi Pioneers--
It’s been an active day at wallkillvalleywriters. Thanks to:

Barbara for a detailed summary of her experience logging-in and trying to figure out what to do next.
Melissa for hanging in there through trial and error until she figured out how to post in Writers & Artists Share and how to post in Public Writing - 3 AM Write
Jan for posting icon and community page photos (if you haven't seen them, they are a must see. I especially like the cat and rooster face-off. My money is on the rooster.)
Jan, Melissa, Barbara, Carrie, and Holly for accepting my friend request.

Greg and I learned a lot today. We need you to help us discover what works and what doesn’t, and how to improve the experience for writers and visitors to the web site. I hope to see more of you take the plunge as the week progresses.

Several of you posted on the wVw timeline (wVw community page) rather than on the Writers & Artists Share community page. Once logged-in, you will be requested to join Writers & Artists Share community. Join. Then post a Hi, I’m here message on the Writers & Artists Share. For the adventurous, add icon and for your page cover photo. For those with the spirit of a pioneer, you can set your bio and post a short piece of writing by:

To set bio:
1. Look for Writer Menu, left column
2. Select "Write New Post"
3. Look for gear icon (far right) on black menu bar
4. Click gear icon
5. Page will open that will allow you to name your blog, provide brief descrip, and bio

To post writing:
1. You will also notice that the above location, Writer Menu, is the blogging tool.
2. Select “Write New Post”
3. You will see posting page (For now the only available private group is Thursday. We’ll notify our beta testers when other groups are available. Otherwise, your writing will be public, but you can control viewing.) Fill in text and publish.
4. At present, there are 2 viewing settings - 1. viewable by all user (general public) or 2. viewable by registered users. Select your preference.

For icons and community page cover photos, Greg has accumulated photos you may choose from if you do not wish to use a personal photo. Greg is the Site Valet. Contact him and he’ll get back to you to assist with photos, if you need help.

Thanks for a great first day.
